Our Background and Mission

Massage Therapist's Prayer

Let me dedicate my life today to the care of those who come my way.

Let me touch each one with healing hands for the gentle art for which I stand.

Let the divine force flow from me to you let our energy and spirit renew.

And then tonight when day is done let me rest in peace if I helped just one.

Andrea Carangelo

Let me tell you a little about my background and myself. My name is Andrea Carangelo. I am a License Massage Therapist.
With over 35 years experience within the field of administration and office work, I began to feel the stress associated within that environment.  In fact, it was affecting my health.  Along with the stress, I also felt unfulfilled. Something was missing, but couldn't quite figure out what it was.

My brother, Mark Carangelo, owner of American Institute of Alternative Medicine and also an Massage Therapy instructor, has been practicing Massage Therapy for over 19 years. His school offers the most complete and comprehensive Medical Massage and Spa Therapy program in New Jersey. He is the first and only school owner appointee by Governor Corzine to the massage and bodywork licensing board. He is also currently a consultant as a sports massage therapist specializing in strength and conditioning with the New York Jets, UCLA and Columbia.

I have witnessed him perform miracles on people who have MS. I have watched his clients leave his therapy sessions feeling less pain and thrilled they have found someone who could actually help them.

I know first hand how Massage Therapy can help you achieve wellness and healing. I have been a client of Mark's for many years.
I have had back problems since I was a young girl.  Mark has helped alleviate pain and discomfort in ways my doctors never could and without medication. He accomplished more than my orthopedic surgeon when I had femoral nerve damage in one leg due to one of my back surgeries. Not being able to walk, lift my leg and only feel pain, Mark was able to perform therapy to banish all symptoms and now I have full use of my leg with absolutely no pain. It took multiple sessions, exercise and commitment on my part, but it was truly worth the pain of therapy and effort.

An opportunity presented itself when I was laid off from the firm I had been employed with for over 6 years. It then hit me...I knew what I wanted to do. It really was in front of me the whole time...Massage Therapy. Learning from a master in Massage Therapy and all the modalities at the American Institute of Alternative Medicine.

Being able to help someone in any way always brought me pleasure. I like to 'pay it forward' so to speak. Now being able to help someone alleviate their pain and discomfort, helping them live a more stress free and healthy life is truly wonderful. Knowing I can pass the benefits of Massage Therapy to a client with my own hands is an overwhelming good feeling. While I am providing massage therapy to a client, it relaxes me as well. My positive and relaxed energy passes right through to my client. Studying human anatomy allows me to find muscle tension and imbalance within the body. I can then incorporate various techniques to allow the muscle to relax.

I offer a range of massage therapy services. I tailor a Massage Therapy session to meet each individual's unique needs. I offer hands on experience and  a total of over 600 hours of formal instruction. I take Continuing Education Courses to further my education to bring the very best to my clients.

My goal and mission is to provide lasting support for all my clients. Learning new techniques and taking continuing education classes’ will enable me to continue to enhance the lives of my clients.

Agnesa Marikovsky

Let me introduce myself... my name is Agnesa Marikovsky, Licensed Massage Therapist. I was raised in Eastern Europe in Slovakia. As a child I was pushed into business economy because of my father. He was a business man and I was suppose to help him with our family business.

Unfortunately, when I received my masters in business economy, my fathers company was no longer as successful as it once was. However, as time moved on, I could no longer keep lying to myself--economics was just not for me. As a young lady, I finally decided to visit America to start a new career. Let’s not forget, America is the land of opportunity.

My life made a complete 180 degree turn within the first year I was here. And as my confidence grew stronger, I knew this was the time to finally change my career path and become a professional.

I have always loved to help others, so I was looking for some career in health care. When I became informed about massage therapy, I knew I had to give it a try. I love to work with people and I wanted a career where my hard work can grow into higher achievements throughout time. Before I knew it, I was sitting in class changing my career, my life, and my dream. Finally, my diploma for massage therapy was the key for my future. I knew that from that moment, I can only better myself and others around me. I was finally on the right path.

My hands and heart grew stronger during my studies at American Institute of Alternative Medicine. As the months went by, I learned a lot of modalities of massage therapy including sweedish massage, deep tissue, hot stone, orthopedic massage, reflexology. But I have also learned something about myself: I craved ecucation. I attended any class that was available for me to further my education with bodywork.

A year from my graduation, I have gained wonderful clients and helped them with their pains. Whether they had a muscle pain or just needed some time for themselves from their busy lifestyle, I was able to help these individuals step away from reality.

However, my goal does not stop here. I will continue my practice and my education. I will continue what I love doing. I never want to stay still in my career. I will always keep learning new modalities and keep up with massage therapy and bodywork to give my clients the very best that they deserve. The better I educate myself, the better I can help others who need me.

So now we invite YOU to discover what can be achieved through Massage Therapy.
